081709 Tip of Week

You already know I advocate spending a lot of time promoting what you do best. This constant pursuit of building your reputation is a key to success. Even if you are busy and doing well, don’t let the well of promotion dry up. Always look for ways to reach more of your existing audience and for perhaps opening up some new pathways to more or different clients.

Brian Tarquin, whom I featured in my CASH TRACKS book, works very hard at promoting what he’s doing. Despite his solid career success, he still takes the time to keep plugging away. Why? Because he understands the link between promoting and his real success. I do, too.

Do you?

Every day there are opportunities to promote. And not every one is “big”. It’s not the quality of the promotion that’s effective — it’s the quantity. You have to be constantly out there spreading the word, in small and big ways. Don’t be shy about it. Get RUTHLESS!

So, here’s the cool video interview with Brian Tarquin at his Jungle Room Studios that inspired this week’s tip. It’s a good promotion, and you’d do well to model it with your career. And in the September issue of Electronic Musician is the print article piece on BT. Read it here.

Make sure you check out Brian’s Fretworx album, too.
