Low budget film sound
I was going to write some more about sound for low budget films and then ran across this blog and the many comments (from some HUGE names in the industry). So instead of adding my own flavors, read this blog entry and its comments instead. I’ll write some other tips myself in the future.
It’s a shame ‘cos this seems to be the ONLY post at this blog. Wish there were more more.
Favorite comment (and so true!) is this entry:
“What I would say about creation of sound fx is that it is vital to liberate the sound from its original source so that you can let it become something entirely different and perfect for its newfound associated image and character.” – David Sonnenschein
And though not part of the article/comments, this from a sound designer cum laude:
”Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are a necessary part of the creative process no matter how long you’ve been at it.” – Randy Thom
And THAT applies to music, film sound, and life … don’t you think?
